High Sheriff Awards 2015 – Inspiring Young People at the Library of Birmingham

15 annual High Sheriff Garden Party was held in the Garden Terrace of the Library of Birmingham on the 23rd July. A champagne reception by Selfridges&CO was very welcoming.

As well as  making the inspiring awards it was an opportunity for past and present High Sheriffs, Mayors and members of the judiciary to enjoy each others company, meet a wide range of West Midland people from business and public sectors including the arts and creative industries.

Before and after the awards ceremony there were many networking opportunities for sharing of views from across the County.

Music and art of many types were the back drop to Creative Future speeches and a surprise appearance by Citizen Khan creator and star Adil Ray, from Yardley to BBC1 Primetime.

Selfridges award winner, Yusuf Niazi met with the Selfridges team to plan the prize arrangements.

The High Sheriff’s young people’s Arts and Creative Programme was the stimulation for the Garden Party  Exhibition curated by Graham Peet and Marian Davies.  Inc West Brom’s Learnplay, BCU’s Blitz  in the darkroom, BFI Mediatheque films from the region, Stans Cafe installation Of All The People Of All The World.
