The High Sheriff has been invited to launch the exciting new project by the Beatfreeks crew, Route 2 Roots on the 10th September. There will be a series of speakers from Heritage Lottery Fund who have supported the project, Birmingham Heritage Steering Group, Impact Hub and Beatfreeks – the session is titled “Why Birmingham, why now?”
#ROUTES2ROOTS INSPIRES AND CHALLENGES YOUNG PEOPLE TO EXPLORE HERITAGE, CULTURE AND IDENTITY.
#Routes2Roots is a multi-media campaign running from May 2015 – May 2016 questioning what heritage, identity and culture means to young people in Birmingham. We want to encourage and support more young people and youth groups to explore projects and ideas which are inspired by their heritage.
For all the flyers, blogs, videos and fact files of the young co-creators go to beatfreeks.com/routes2roots
The launch of the Routes2Roots campaign is aimed at young people to engage, discover and explore their heritage in the Birmingham area. It will also encourage young people, heritage organisations and youth groups to find out about the young roots grants of £10,000 – £50,000 to explore heritage, identity and culture.
