The High Sheriff was honoured to attend the Civic Mass in St Chad’s Cathedral in central Birmingham.  Alongwith Deputy Lieutenant Deirdre Kelly, the Lord Mayor of Birmingham, a large congregation a number of senior members of the Judiciary including Dame Justice Thirwall and HHJ Michael Keehan attended with members of the Knight’s Sepulchre.

Cannon Gary Breen and and Archbishop the Very Reverend Bernard Longley led the mass and carried out Holy Communion.

The Cathedral Singers sang beautifully and filled the Cathedral with their blessed voices. The organist and director of music was Professor David Saint and assisted by Nigel Morris.

Following Mass guests gathered for a formal photograph and enjoyed light refreshments in the Grimshaw Room.
