Black Country Armed Forces Day

Armed Forces Day was celebrated throughout the Country  on the weekend  of  27th / 28th and many events took place across the County of the West Midlands.  Many members of the public, armed forces young and old, recognised the contributions past and present made by so many people.

On Saturday The High Sheriff was honoured to attend the Celebrations Hosted by the Mayor of Wolverhampton on a blisteringly hot day.

The day began with rain, but as the celebration approached the sun broke through for the large audience gathered in the grounds. Jonnie was very proud to stand alongside the Mayor of Dudley and Lord Lieutenant of the West Midlands and make awards to many deserving servicemen and women. Our Host The Mayor of Dudley
